Touring Workshops
Smuin Ballet frequently travels around the United States for touring performances, but our presence in the communities we visit isn’t just on stage. Dancers and staff collaborate with our hosts to provide outreach programs to suit the needs of these local areas.
Most often Smuin Ballet dancers lead master classes for students of all levels, from pre-ballet to college and pre-professional students. Many of our dancers are experienced teachers and are thrilled to be able to interact with new dance communities.
In addition to master classes, Smuin Ballet has offered open dress rehearsals as well as production workshops in a variety of locations. Our design and management staff have worked with high school and college students to give them a glimpse into the theater production world at a time when these students are planning for their futures. From the basics of wardrobe preparation to the advanced arenas of lighting design, our staff members enjoy the opportunity to share their love of ballet with others.
