Amy Seiwert-Objects of Curiosity
Protege Program choreographer and Company member, Amy Seiwert, creates a new work for Smuin Ballet, Objects of Curiosity. Amy has created six ballets for Smuin Ballet and Michael considered her to be an extremely gifted choreographer.  "Objects of Curiosity" is  an effort certain to continue her status as an artist who "more than any other choreographer in the Bay Area is exploring the language of classicism with an almost religious belief in its eloquence, power and possibilities" (Voice of Dance). Seiwert, was recently named one of "25 to Watch" by Dance Magazine.
Objects of Curiosity is an audience and critical sensation.

Stabat Mater
Michael created Stabat Mater to Dvorak’s music of the same title, in response to the tragedies surrounding 9/11.  The San Francisco Chronicle proclaimed “It …is one of the most beautiful ballets in this choreographer’s remarkable career.”  It’s only fitting we perform this in memory of Michael.

Reinin’ in the Hurricane
WEST COAST PREMIERE
Guest choreographer Kirk Peterson (The Eyes That Gently Touch) returns with this whimsical “Smuin-esque” ballet set to the music of country western’s greatest - Johnny Cash, Gene Autry, k.d. lang and more. Peterson is Artistic Director of the American Ballet Theatre Studio Company and was the innovative Artistic Director of Hartford Ballet for five years.
