Former Company member Shannon Hurlburt is returning to the stage for select performances of The Christmas Ballet! Shannon will reprise his signature tap-dancing role in “Bells of Dublin.”

“Hurlburt’s tap dance solo to The Chieftains’ ‘Bells of Dublin,’… almost stopped this show Friday, and he led his male colleagues with panache in ‘Belles of Blackville Reel’.”  – San Francisco Chronicle, 2013

Michael once said of Shannon: “Shannon is an incredibly versatile dancer, a real actor, but also so musical. There is a real intelligence in Shannon’s dancing” (San Francisco Chronicle, 2002).

Shannon also choreographed several memorable works for Smuin Ballet, including {a}part, Dumbky, and Max. After sustaining two major injuries which temporarily sidelined him, Hurlburt moved on from dancing full-time with the Company. He is now married to former dancer, Kaleena Opdyke, and they have a son named Oliver. He is currently a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
